Economics was born when the first ape decided to whack another ape over the head because he wanted that ape's fucking banana. Democracy was born when the apes had to decide who got whacked for their bananas. Liberty was born when it was decided that the sum total of bananas could be increased by letting everyone grow their own. Marxism was born when the peon apes decided they wanted to get the bananas from the ruling apes.

It all boils down to the same thing: power - who has it and who wants it.

Or bananas. I'm not sure which.
