Glenvinchie
Now as I swig Glenkinchie from the bottle*, I'm actually enjoying it because of its lightness and dryness... its in such juxtaposition to the ominipotent Laphroaig** which I've been scoffing lately.
But the real question is, do I order another bottle of the Original Cask Strength (which you have to get shipped from the distillery) or do I use said money to try something else - like an 18 yo Glenlivet (& if they have one - in a french oak finish) or a Laugvaulin...
Do I go with what I love or do I expand into new lands?
I'm thinking that it depends on the continued availability of the Original Cask Strength. If its going to be around a while, then I should get something a little rarer and new.***
Yes, this is how I spend my tuesday night...
(Until the drop ins arrived. hi drop ins!)
... and, as David said:
"If this is the most significant question you're asking, then you must be doing pretty well".
Eh.
* Its Valentine's Day, so I'm allowed such secret acts of melodrama.
** The Original Cask Strength Laphroaig is *so* pungent and strong, they recommend drinking it with 2 parts water... which is so uncharacteristically Laphroaig... personally, I just make it equal parts water and Laproaig... but that's me.
*** I still haven't found another bottle of the Macallan 12 yo (Sherry Oak), although I haven't hunted for one per se. I should buy another one of them if I can find it... so cognacy.
