filmmaking ristretto
In anything at all, perfection is finally attained not when there is no longer anything to add, but when there is no longer anything to take away.
-- Antoine de Saint-Exupery quoted, strangely, in an article talking about ristretto coffee but it applies to all things, especially storytelling. Then again, I'm a freak who has double ristretto flat whites where possible.

how do you reconcile that with the view that an artwork is never finished, only abandoned?

Call me paranoid, but I can't help but feel that this post might be a response to my latest!

No need to be paranoid. I haven't watched it yet. Its now sitting on my work computer, waiting for me to get an opportunity to watch it.
The post came from me googling on how to make ristretto's and I thought it was a nice quote!
