(a) They don't want to pay Apple or whomever to solve their problem.
(b) They're too lazy to learn how to solve problems.
(c) They're stupid.
This pissed off ed ness only increases when they leave multiple voice messages on my phone in the course of a few days. I do get back to them, but I make em wait, cause usually they just want phone advice which translates to free. Even if they want me to go round, its usually for less than an hour, and translates to $50. When I was a poor student, $50 was significant, now that I work over 40 hours a week, spending 2 hours (incl. travel time) of my free time to fix someone elses proble for $50 just ain't worth it.
Just because you're good at something doesn't mean you like doing it.
*Generally this refers to people I don't know, or to people whom I may have helped a few years ago... occasionally friends piss me off too, or work colleagues (from our parent company. I don't mind helping people I work with. Not people who just happen to be in the same building).
GRRRRRRRRRR.
