No Aussie men and only 10 per cent of their female counterparts thought intelligence was more important than physical appearance, a sense of humour and confidence.

NB: The original report stipulates that this in 'first encounters' only.

According the report, I'm better moving to America.

Int. Writer's Mind. Night.

Mr Martian has decided to share his beginning of scene checklist. Read it so I can pretend I'm still metawriting.

These people wanted to be mentioned on my blog, so they'll come up in their own google vanity searches...

Let's see what happens. Perhaps my powers of ubergeekiness will impress upon them my manly manliness.

I was compared to Jack Black today. Fat or funny, they wouldn't say.

insert witty title here.

Despite promising myself that I'm going to write more this year, I've completely avoid writing for the last 36 days. While I can cognitively disonate* that this is a period of rejuvination and subconscious thinking after I spent most my spare time from October to December (inclusive) writing... ultimately it comes down to three things:

(a) Superman Returns is rapidly approaching 'drop dead' for delivery. This means we're cranking up the working hours, and have been for a while. Better to do constant 50-60 hours weeks than kill yourself with the 100 hour crush in the last month.

(b) Concurrently, I'm coordinating and editing an entirely CGI trailer. Again, hours go up (and will even more, as this won't be due until a month after the uberboy movie)...

yet the real problem was...

(c) Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords. I bought an X-Box early in the year, cause I wanted a great way to switch off my mind sometimes. I hate it when I've had a really busy day and I try to enjoy a play or a movie, and instead am completely distracted by whatever is happening in my head. By nature of being interactive, games force me to stop thinking about work. This is a Good Thing™. Predominately, most of the games I have are the kind of actioney games which you may play for an hour before you get bored. Not so with KOTOR2. I played the original and got completely addicted (played through 30 hours in 2 weeks, whyile working full time)... and the same thing happened here... and it was a BIGGER game. It took me 50 in game hours to complete (I'm thorough). WOW! Anyway, I finally finished it tonight and I"m relieved. My life can return, just in time for crunchHell (alluded to above). There are some observations I will make about the game, gaming, and Star Wars... but they'll wait until later. Right now, I'm going to go and watch Battlestar Galactica.

* Yes, I made that up. Deal.

Oscar Writing Observation

All five nominees for Best Original Screenplay (CRASH; GOODNIGHT AND GOOD LUCK; MATCH POINT; THE SQUID AND THE WHALE; SYRIANA) were either written or co-written by their directors.
