I was walking around Erskineville this afternoon, thinking about how this once working class district fed the Everleigh Rail Workshops... and yet now its been invaded by inner city professionals (like me) who are willing to live in tiny little terrace houses for proximity to work and (imnsho) once the nicest inner city environments [I have a park opposite me, two to the right, and one to the left].

But y'know, I don't think there's much difference -at all- between the Everleigh Rail Workshops and the Australian Technology Park which resides next to it. Computers are just the modern coal face and those of us who are paid to use them are just modern day Workshop Workers. We're now an educated working class whose education buys us comparative luxury while we still trade our time for money.

stovetop

The best thing about stovetop coffee, other than it tasting so good*, is the way the wonderful smell permeates throughout the house.

* Remember kids, the pressure you get from a stovetop isn't much lower than that from a proper sur $1000 espresso machine. You're better off with a stovetop than a percolator or even a plunger [although that's good for making strong blacks]

2pm today. (well yesterday, but who's counting). it started. my hiatus has started. it then started to rain a few hours later. as i was walking to collect my mail. ass.

sweet. must go watch new episodes of dr who now.

btw, i realised that the Doctor really is a superhero and his superpower is knowledge. that's probably why i always liked the characters. he was clever.

* I don't think two hearts and the ability to regenerate and travel through time really count as superpowers, more superaccessories.
