Islay

In around 8 hours I fly out from Islay to Heathrow (via Glasgow). The last two days have been an adventure, that's for sure. Far more interesting than the tour which was like travelling trapped behind glass. Highlights thus far include -

* Playing chicken with a pack of rams on a small road where I hadn't seen humans for like an hour

* Walking around with my backpack as Islay gets battered with rain from the tail end of a hurricaine.

* Trekking throuh beatbogs on my 8 mile walk back to my accomodation [more on that later]

* Seeing my plot of land.

I'm having some down time in London before I start the continental leg of the trip, so I'll probably post some photos and video and witty commentary (well, 2 out of 3 ain't bad).

Edinburgh to Ullapool, Days XX-XX

Shite.

Just spent like twenty minutes writting a blog entry and then I'm rudely logged out cause the internet machined decided I wasn't using the connection.

I'm not going to bother repeating the same stories.

Short version for those who care is I now am in Ullapool, which is around Inverness at the north central of Scotland. I head to Loch Ness tomorrow.

I drank Oban in Oban and Talisker in Skye. (Respective whiskies from said towns).

The Scottish like round trampolines with fishnets around them.

Midgies should die. Ugly things.

Haggis is surprisingly edible and filling.

I haven't had internet access for the last four days and Edinburgh was just too freaking cool to waste interwebbing. Sorry for the lack of e-mails. When I get to Islay (which will take ALL of Tuesday - 5 hour coach and 3 hour ferry), I'll do some writing.

Checkya.
