Life of an editor - says it all really

Was working on a project yesterday with the client in the room. There was one particular shot of a material drying and lsing its glossiness slowly over about 90seconds.

After dropping in the shot, he decided he wanted it a bit longer... so I jumped the clip to its outpoint. He then proceeds to go 'aaaaaaaanddddddddddd.................. cut! that's it, perfect'.

Funny thing was, I wasn't actually PLAYING the clip at the time. It was just sitting there, still.
