around 1.43pm

driving down erskineville road having had a long brunch at bitton's down by the park where my friend procured the phone number of the molly ringwald waitress with the assistance of the café owner much to the surprise of our female companion whom also accompanied us both at brunch and on the drive she was and is my rather absent good mate's estonian girlfriend and was offered a job at said café by said café owner because she not my mate is cute and can speak french and so anyway we are driving along and who do we see but brendan cowell yes mr brendan my girlfriend is rose byrne cowell skirting down the pavement on his bike so out the window recently phone number possessed friend known as jeremy yells out -

"we love love my way"
in the distance accompanied by a wave
"thanks mate"

the thought later occurred to me that ms rose my boyfriend is brendan cowell byrne may sometimes drink beer at the kurrajong which is where i also drink beer reschs or carlton often and i wonder if the desire to see such a celebrity in the comfort of my very local local - like 50 seconds from my house kind of local - is superficial but the thought doesn't really last that long and i only really think of it again as i write this blog entry out for the third time third because writing without punctuation is actually incredibly difficult and frustrating for me and one imagines my audience but thats what such writing experiments are for but so anyway this is the highlight of my saturday and here the endeth of this story does begin.

that'll learn ya

About five years ago, I worked on a short film called Lightness which was produced at the AFTRS. I was the Production Designer's assistant and and did helluva job... much the joy of the producer. I could do a lot of the Art Department wrangling without her being involved. I remember it quite well

She ended up getting some prestigious scholarship and disappeared for a while - I didn't see her again until this year.

Five years later, I'll now be running a show for her (possibly two)... because she *asked* the Studio Manager to have me on her shows. Running = production supervising = managing all the vfx monkies and my armada of underlings.

(Of course, I'm only going to have a week off from uberboi before I roll right into these... sigh)

So what does this learn ja?

The industry is small and you *must* treat every colleague, professional or otherwise, as a potential colleague or supervisor or boss.

Ha.

Everyone who says Apple should become more like Dell just doesn't get it. Why?

As of now Apple's Market Cap is $60 billion, Dell's is $59 billion.
